ASSIGNMENT
This assignment involved Individually creating an Ultra-personalized product service systems (UPPSS) based on the project we want to develop further as our final project. We had to make sure we explore how personalization can happen at more than one level. A customer journey map was expected to be presented, where the different levels of personalization are integrated in the design and use of the UPPSS presented.
INSPIRATION
The focus of my interaction is based on the concept of self awareness and empathy, enabling people to become more aware of their emotional state using the heart as the main bio-input. As well as gaining self awareness, I'm also keen on the idea of self soothing, as a means to encourage personal care increase wellbeing. I am collecting a lot of information on heart rate sensors and soothing actuators. On the other hand, I am also really interested in merging Yucatecan textile craft with electronics for the creation of responsive garments. I'd like to bring that inspiration to my interactive garments. Here is my Pinterest board with some initial inspiration on Yucatecan textiles.

The photographs of the Yucatecan women are my own, which I took in Merida in 2017. The illustrations of the hearts all come from Pinterest and are collected in my board Hearts.
OBJECTIVES & PLAN
My goal for my final assignment is to design a garment that enables people to sense variations of their heartbeat frequency and respond to increased heartbeat frequency with a soothing interaction in order to restore calmness and well being. I want to increase that awareness with a garment that has the goal of of reducing anxiety, stress and other situations where the heart is under strain without the person being aware of it, and encouraging them to take actions to calm down.
For this assignment I will:
Illustrate the various options I still have open using use scenarios.
- SCENARIO 1 / SELF-EMPATHY.
- SCENARIO 2 / ETERO-EMPATHY.
Create a Journey map for the PPSS (Personalized Product Service System) that I aim to create starting from the product and the service it provides to users.
Narrow down options for feasibility during this course.
Creating a Roadmap for future implementation of my PPSS, beyond Fabricademy.
USE SCENARIO 1 / SELF-EMPATHY
In this scenario the garment senses the person't increased heart rate and responds by providing a soothing vibrating massage until the heart rate goes down. The idea is that the person is enabled to better take care of themselves by increasing self-awareness on her physical/emotional situation. Often we are disconnected from our body and our emotions, and certainly we are not very aware of how either one influences each other.
USE SCENARIO 2 / ETERO-EMPATHY
In this scenario two garments are connected to each other. The objective of the connected garments is to increase self-awareness and at the same time connectedness between people that care for each other and that cannot be there at all times for support.
